my new dyno graph from TCS

If anyone remembers the thread about my dyno graph before, this is just an update.

I have done some mods to the induction and thought i would post the results for all to see.

An increase in Torque of 50 ft/lbs over last time

I also changed the "Y" piece for a decatted one.

Its too loud now though, its got no silencer and no cats

What sort of de-catted 'y' piece is it Paul?Is it the std with the cat removed,or is it a special 'flowed' one? Any pics please?

Its a standard y that has been cut and shut, thanks ebay

Just thought i'd paste your previous graph for a comparisonThats massive gains right from the beginning up to 5.2k-Fabulous!! And it looks a much smoother curve too!Whats it like to drive by comparison?

It feels a lot better on the mid range and pulls smoothly from 1200 rpm in 5th.

I am trying another mod soon, so see how that compares.

I can see i'm going to have to knobble Trackcar-Fancy taking my Griff highest torque crown off me!!.I'm back up to see Julian on the Friday before Chatsworth,so i'll have to see what we can come up with

It was low 350's.I bet you did realise really,your just trying to smooth things over now!

I dunno Rob . we tested it 8 times and tried a few tweaks out .. before when tested (in a different shootout mode) it made about 310lbs.ft this time with very minor mods it's made 360odd lbs.ft. Went back and checked all the corrections, tyre pressures, did the run in 3rd and 4th gears, shoot 8 and shoot 8f and it always came out around 350-360lbs.ft.

I don't understand it .. what figures do you see off your dyno, the car is:

Early 5 litre (one of the first 50 made) with Piper 285 cam, no cats at all, silicone 90degree bend to plenum. We swung the dizzy but only found a couple of brake from that so put it back to where it was. Even the all singing all dancing 5.3 only made 15lbs more than this car .. so which do you consider the true torque output Rob .. the 310lbs from before or the 350/360 we're seeing this time?

Got to be the 'y' piece surely?.Have you noticed how the peak bhp also occurs lower down the range?All that space in the 'y' piece
