Upgrade prospect

I'm planning to sell my (1996) Griff 500. However at present it has a noisy cam, which I plan to have replaced (along with followers etc) before I sell. Of course because I'm doing it to make the car saleable it will be replaced with a standard cam as I don't intend to spend extra money on ECU remaps yada yada that would be required with a higher tune cam.

So, before I start getting this work booked this is just a quick post to see if there's anyone that would want to buy it beforehand, perhaps with a view to fitting uprated cams, ECU upgrades etc. Of course the cost of cam work would be taken into account.

This isn't really an advert, more a "survey of interest" before I have work carried out which is why it's here rather than the classifieds. I just think it would be a shame to spend money on replacing like-for-like if someone out there has a particular hankering to tinker with something with more oomf!

Otherwise I'll be getting it booked in for work, but it'll be a while before it's for sale as I'll have to run in the new cam on mineral oil etc after the work is complete.

IMHO, you'll always get more money and a lot more interest if you present the car for sale with no obvious faults.

Engine noises which are 99% certain to be camshaft related, have in the past turned out to be other problems, so knowledgeable buyers are wary about taking on cars with faults, unless they can steal it
