Oilly residue from coil......................?

Just fitted a new set of Magnecor leads, when I unplugged the old lead from the coil, it was covered in an oilly substance.
This seems to be coming out of the coil.....................that can't be right can it?

Should I just replace the coil as it's a fairly simple job?

Coil is oil filled for insulation/heat dissapation/shock absorbtion. Sounds like replacement required!
