Perspex headlight visors ?

Hi All,

Griff is off into the painshop next week for a full blowover,my perspex visors are showing signs of fine crazing so this will be an ideal time to renew them.

Are these TVR only supply? and does anyone have an idea of the cost per pair please?

Also are they available with a smoke tint? OR rather than brand new does anyone have a pair kicking around they would like to sell?

They're TVR only and about £65 each.
I tried to find a driver's side clear about 3 months ago and driver's side clear was on back order, out of stock everywhere I tried. I ended up with a smoked pair.

Where are you going for the respray? Did you get the bonnet done already?

A friend of a friend runs the bodyshop at our local Renault franchise and fortunately his company allow him to use their facillities for his own work,he called round last night and gave me a great price so its off in on the weekend.

He reckons there will be no prob's doing the bonnet either.

Where did you get the smoked pair from was it TVR and were they also £65 each?

Do I need to order direct from the factory?

Peninsula make some copy ones which fit ok. Check with them (or they might have moved to TVRcarparts with the staff that moved).

However I do not have any intention whatsoever of using the car at night(though on the very rare occasion it might happen)!

Its purely a Sunny Sunday runabout if we get any Sun this yr!!

Thanks mate,just ordered with TVRcarparts who have the smoke tint in stock and I'll get them tomorrow

For info if anyone else interested price is £57.10 each plus the dreaded vat.

Small tip,

Had to do it on mine. If you look at the pics i had nothing covering the rear of the light assembly (standard is only a flat piece of rubber).

If you know a Chimp owner and can borrow/perloin a couple of shower caps make a small hole for the wires and cable tie to stop anything getting in.
The elasticated part fits snugly over the rear of the pod stopping any crap getting in your nice clean pod's

Nice one. The smokes look better IMHO and don't seem to affect the headlamp brightness much.

sorry for late reply but got mine from leven, smoked (long story but swapped them for clear with someone) was only around £95.00 for the pair delevered, if you need to get hold of some silkaflex i got mine from a boat company for £24.00 ish for 2 tubes delivered which i have the details at home if you need can post that tonight or email you , however 1 tube will be enough for the job just, agree with seasider about the shower cap made mine out of some duck hooding as the rubber had perished, probably the hardest part of the job is keeping the inside of the perspex clear and every time you wipe them they become static, ( will probably give the cat a no1 all over if i ever do it again)put them together in the house,

not sure which tvrcc region it was but i think it was griffsmith who put together a good report of how to do.

every thing went fine cheers,thanks to the good advise from yourself, not being much of a gardener i used a medium sized button for the detailing around the join for a good result instead of the name stick, and was also suprised how easy it was to get the excess sealant of the next day with a blunt tool (plastic ruler) and just a normal house hold degreaser,
see you are going to the curry night at the growl will have to buy you that pint cheers,
