Renovo or Autoglym ?

After three years with the Griff i've decided to renovate the roof.
Should i go for the Renovo or autoglym ?
Anyone had good results with another product?

I have just used the renovo stuff and its made a nice job !
I will use it again without a doubt.

Used Renovo waterproofer last year when my Griff lived outside for a few weeks, I can definitely recommend. Sheds water a treat after just one coat, and stopped water seeping thro hood fabric onto the rear carpets behind seats

Ive not used the Autoglym product.

Just to clarify there are several Renovo products - some to recolour your hood material and some to waterproof, etc. For waterproofing you can also use Fabsil or Thompson's Waterseal, They all seem to do the job.

I have used renovo to re-colour a number of times on the Griffith and S before seems to do a pretty good job.

Ive used renovo on mine used to leak behind seats seemed to have stopped all that now though .

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try the Renovo kit, it's currently on ebay for £40 plus £6 postage.

Thats a great review Wildfire,could you just expand on this bit a little,please?- "The other downside is that once the proofer has been used you are effectively tied to that make for proofing the roof".

Sure thing. I haven't updated the review yet, but I meant to. Basically after using the renovo proofer here are my experiences:

After I took the car out in the wet the roof was fine and water proof, but unlike the fabsil and Thompson's waterproofer the Renovo didn't seem to bead water off. This made it a bit of a pain. Basically the roof was wet even after a few hours which meant it wasn't a good ideal to put on my cover.

I figured that it's probably not a good idea to mix two different types of waterproofers, especially not one after the other. So once you use the Renovo product you are effectivly tied to keep using the proofer when you "top up" the coating. Also the Proofer is expensive compared to Thompsons, which I've tested extensively 12 hours in torrential rain and 24 hours with 4" of snow on it.

Thompsons beads the water off and is also around £5 for half a gallon which will last agese, even if like me you proof every 2 months.

I would reccomend the Kit, but top off with Thompsons if you do not garage the car or use it in the wet alot.

That reminds me I should proof mine soon.

Renovo fabric roof kit is on Easter offer at the Moment £46 inc delivery on Ebay.

I use the Renovo colour restorer. It does a great job but is like very thin ink - as you brush it onto the rear section you'll get tiny spots on the surrounding area so mask off the rear screen and bodywork first.

Apart from that it gets a spray of Fabsil waterproofer every year or so
