Where is the ice detector located?

Hi all,my ice detector has finally packed up and i'd like to replace the sensor.I believe this is the Vauxhall type from the Vectra/Astra/Cavalier,is this correct?I havent a clue where its located so if someone could tell me i'd be extremely grateful.Cheers,Mike

I didnt know I had one! - perhaps that's why my ABS and traction control isnt kicking in!!!!!!

From memory the ABS and Traction control are located in the driver's footwell

Both features appear to be a little unreliable at the user interface though on my car.

Sorry to hijack this thread, the ice sensor on my car ('99 500) is behind the nearside headlight (according to my handbook).

it lights an LED orange, green and red according to temp, utterly unreliable and prone to disintegration every winter. It is interesting when it works but I ended up shorting the wires together after the 3rd failure

I've luckily never had cause to have to rely on the ABS in my Griff, but the traction control just doesn't work.

I seem to remember that it was engaged by lifting the throttle and disengaged by planting it

Mine had an optional speed limiter, it was located in the passanger seat and made a disturbing racket when giving it some

I had one of those too, I thought it was diff whine until i removed it.

It should be under the passanger side light pod at the end of 2 wires, rectangular shaped piece of black heat shrink - about as big as small finger nail - was on mine any way.
