Griff Alarm Probs

Dear All,

A potentially tricky problem this one, but I'll throw it open to the forum to see if anyone can help...

My '94 Griff 500 has been stored for the last 4 months, the battery went flat but was then revived using a conditioner - this is a regular annual event and I've had no probs in the past.

The car is now back on the road, it starts fine etc. but the keyfob / alarm / immobiliser has stopped working i.e. the car doesn't respond to the keyfob so I can't lock it or arm the alarm. (i've never had any probs with the alarm, or car for that matter, in 6 years of ownership - so I'm probably due some grief!))

I've done all the usual stuff like replaced the batteries in the fob and tried the spare but no response from either.

The car is fitted with the original Gemini alarm - although I guess the factory used all sort of different systems over the years.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Any ideas where to start?

Had a similar occurance with mine a while back....using the Alarm key (the round hollow one on the sire) try switching off the alarm and then back on.
have you tried the spare key/fob on the car ?

Try disconnecting the car battery then reconnect and use the key fob as soon as you have connected the battery as it seems you have to do this in the first few seconds for the alarm to recognise the remote.

Great advice gents! Grovelled around in the footwell, disconnected then reconnected the battery and hey presto, alarm and central locking all working again!
