watt bulbs in instruments

I'm so funny - 'Watt' - bulbs !!!
Sorry, back to the topic then ...
I took the dash off the Griff tonight to replace the clock and recover the speedo which did a mole impression and disappeared into the dash recently. I thought I'd check out the bulbs while I have it apart and replace any that were blown. It seems none are blown, although they all seemed kak to me. Instead it turns out I have blue bulbs!
They look a bit aged to me though so I might replace them. Are the original bulbs just 12v 5w - these blue ones are labelled EL 12v W5W B [E1] 2FU.
One odd thing I've never seen before is the clock bulb. It too is blue but it is a white bulb with a dinky blue 'swimming cap' on!
