Being faced with either binnning off the Griff of Fixing the worst of the 'problems' and keeping it got me thinking....

What would you change/fix on a Griff to make it the ultimate car?

My list:

Slow window rising
Poor lights
Heating/cooling/Aircon etc
Heat soak from engine to cockpit.
350-400 hp
6 speed box?
17"/18" wheels
No leaks
Seatbelts that don't get 'stuck'

Any more thoughts?

Mine has got more than enough hp.

Better brakes.
Better engine cooling system.

That's it. I can put up with everything else.

I think they call it character.

Slow window rising: Done - Rewired and much improved
Poor lights: See above. Also fitted (slightly) higher power bulbs.
Heating/cooling/Aircon etc: Don't need A/C. Heating and cooling in progress
Heat soak from engine to cockpit.: Never been a problem on mine.
350-400 hp: Working on it!
6 speed box?: Don't think this would give much improvement for me.
17"/18" wheels: No! 16 front, 17 rear maybe.
No leaks: I try to avoid vegetables wherever I can.
Seatbelts that don't get 'stuck': Max Power seatbelt pad thingies solved this on mine for some reason.

Any more thoughts:

Remote boot opening (Well worth the bother)
Better fuel economy
Better seats.

I think I'm nearly there. (Well, will be after the respray!)

Electric Windows - Modified Wiring??

Could you expand on the theory behind this please, I would be very interested as it feels like an age trying to get the damn things up - even after checking they are in the runners, etc.

The idea is that when TVR designed the Griff they tried to save as much weight as possible so used the thinnest wire available to man. This in turn means that every electrical component has wire too thin to power the device (too thin a wire for the current draw means voltage drops and motors run slow, bulbs glow dim etc)

The accepted 'fix' (rather than re-wire the whole car) is to install a relay with a much thicker power feed wire near the device in question...the relay draws minimum current to switch the device using the thicker power feed...does that ramble make any sense...?

Not wasted spark. It's COP! The rest is right though.
