Griff Roll Cage
Discussion
No, from what I can see tower view only do a Roll bar not a Cage. I already have a bar but it seems someone has had a change of opinion on the rules so I now need a cage. I spoke to someone I think at Castle Coombe who did a Griff cage but it was a year or so ago. Rollcenter have the Griff listed but I suspect it is the old Griff. Safety devices don’t list TVR. I know some of the sprinted Griffs have them I just want a clue where they came from. Will make some calls tomorrow but wondered if I could get a head start. Any ideas anybody ?
The Roll Cage People turned round a cage for my Chimaera in about a week. They also have already done a Griff so I guess it whouldnt take them more than couple of days to fabricate.

You could try www.rollcentre.co.uk or www.safetydevices.com , or ask any of the people who run / used to run Tuscans, or ask any local race team to suggest somebody.
Yes, bits are welded to the chassis. No it didn't have an MSA cert cos I don't think I needed one, but one could of been provided.
Ask them to move the A pillar bar as far out as possible, its the only critism I have of my cage, it makes it bloody difficult to heel and toe with the standard pedal box, I'm going to modify the pedals shortly to help this.

Hi Steve
You have the added priveledge of a few experts in UK,however i'd have a good think about how you are going to approach this and how it will affect the value and appearence of your P&J.
If you are going for a welded in joby, then its done and dusted,no going back without some major upheivel, theirs still a good bit of fibreglass cutting and patching to do for a 6 pointer(Thankfully TVR left threaded holes for the rear section). If you want a 8 pointer, there goes your bottom dash.
If you wanted a removeable bolted cage, you would need bigger triangle sections welded to the outer 4 points of the outriggers, even then if you went for a cage to the front outrigger section you would need a sectional jointed cage and would have to have a removable windscreen surround,to get it in and out.
Mail me if I can be of any help

Took mine out and sold it (well gave it away really but think it went to a good home ) and had a new one that complies to Blue Book Q60 made. It is basically a hoop the same as the factory one but has the obligatory diagonal, is made of slightly thicker tube and has additional fixing points at the base of the main hoop. It also sits slightly forward and slightly higher so as to comply with the requirement for a line over the driver’s helmet to a “substantial mass” ie the engine. Properly complying with Q60 and still being able to fit the roof is quite difficult in a Griff unless you have the seat set low and are not over tall. Unless you are battling with the strutineers I think the factory one is fine.
