Griff 500 brake light switch ?

1998 Griff 500, anybody know what the brake light switch is off?

Brake lights have stopped working.Need to do some investigation but I suspect that it will turn out to be the switch.

Hi Colin,

Dont know what it is from but you can get one from a dealer for about £8 however, I seem to keep having this problem. I have changed the switch and still it seems to keep B@ggering up.

My advice would be to take the old switch off and take it apart, you will probably find that you can just bend the flat piece of metal back into shape and it will then work again (for a while anyway).

IF anyone else has this problem I would like to know. Are there any alternative switches that could be fitted?? I am going to investigate this when I have time!

Update

There's power to the switch and it's switching with an output when the brake pedal is depressed.

The bulbs are ok and the rest of the rear lights work ok so no probs with earthing.

So some prob between the output from the switch and the rear light clusters. As all the other rear lights work I suspect nothing wrong with the wire as I guess the wire is in a loom and any damage would likely effect more than just the brake light feed.

So I suspect that there's a multi block some where in the car and that there's a bad connection.

Tomorrow night's job, look for a multiblock.

Update

Sorted, multiblock behind the carpet on passenger side.Same location as the multiblock which was resposible for the intermitant operation of the interior light.

Getting the hang of the TVR's now.
