Quick question

Hi

Just giving the car a quick once over under the bonnet this afternoon & I noticed the small pipe/hose on top of the plenum chamber had come off.

I dont think its been like it for long, it may even have come off whem I opened the bonnet, & it pushed back on without a problem.

So tell me - whats it do? If I have driven the car with it unattached might it have done some harm. Ive had a look in the bible & cant see any refernce to it, allthough I think its something to do with air flow into the plenum chamber - I could be wrong, I have the technical know how of a gnat

Im leading a dawn raid first thing in the morning & I want to put my mind at rest.

If it goes to the dissie it's the vacuum advance, just push it back on, no harm done.
