Exhaust fumes are driving me crazy

I've only got to drive a 100 mtrs or so and the cabin of my pre-cat and me sting of exhaust fumes and that is with the roof and windows shut.

I've tried blocking up the the two little air vents in the rear of the hood without any success. I fitted a Full ACT stainless exhaust 14 months ago and have only done 1100 miles, at a recent MOT I had the guy check all the joints and bolts all OK apart from a smmall hole that has apeared in the flexi part of the exhaust, if this is the cause (which I doubt) how the Fxxx does the fumes get into the cabin and where !!.

I have read other threads and a common cure is to lenghten the tail pipes, before such expense and mutilation of my £1400 exhaust system does anyone know that this a 100% remedy, if so by how much do I lenghten the tail pipes.

Make sure the seal around your boot lid is good,fumes can and do get drawn back into the car via this route.

fact of life with the precats, though some cars are worse than others and some people are more sensitive than otehrs. I regularly used to go home from the TVR dealers where I worked with a stinking headache to the point where I would throw up and have to go to bed from carbon monoxide fumes in the workshop.

I have a pre cat and like you got fed up with the fumes...the previous owner had these very nice looking and apparently quite cheap stainless steel tips/sleeves added onto the end, so I just simply got them pulled out by about 4/5 inches and its cured it completely. Very effective. Apparently the fumes were leaking into the cabin via the boot seal. It looks fine with the exhausts poking out a bit more and not really noticable.

I would also get it checked out by Mark Adams, my precat used to stink like mad.
Took it to Mark and got it sorted , the smell is hydrocarbons if I remember correctly, which I believe is unburnt fuel.
My still smells a little , but is much better.
Also make sure the rear lights are sealed properly.

Could also be the injectors not atomising properly and giving too much unburnt fuel after combustion

Thanks for all help your guys, as a last resort I think I will just fill my boot with expanding foam.
