getting a new one put in as old one is perished. taking it to a local garage. is this advisable as steve heath rekons its a tricky job. just cant be arsed getting to a TVR dealership that miles away, charges through the nose and has a one month queue

Did this myself last week - it's a right pain in the @rse had to remove the plenum and virtually lie on top of the engine to get at the botom joint of the pipe: Fidley and time consuming but any half decent local garage should be able to do it: Make sure they use injection pipe -not standard fuel pipe to repalce the old stuff. (higher pressure or something) Should be done in about an hour and a half plus bits (about £10 worth of pipe to replace both)

Also check the return pipe going to the tank ... mine perished where it turns a tight-ish 90 degree bend behind the tank and the boot would've filled up if the ventilation holes weren't in the floor ..

A spark from the boot solenoid may have been *interesting* ...
