What do we all think of this outfit for a bit of engine fettling ? Seem OK on the phone and I think I met him when he was the other place nearby.

Quite a few on PH use Dulford - Guillotine and Bluebottle have both had major engine work done recently. The guys there have looked after my Griff for nearly 5 years. Recently had a new cam and other engine work which was done extremely well. I'm not entirely sure I picked the right cam but that was my choice.

I don't have much experience of other outfits but I've heard plenty of horror stories - like yours - so I stick with what I know. Thoroughly nice guys too.

Yes that would be a correct assumption. I have fixed the oil leak myself, as I had to do that before it could be driven anywhere. Still remaining is the fact it sounds like a diesel on start up, initially this went away after a few seconds but it now lasts 2-3 mins. Also on anything other than a wide open throttle it misses and I just have a gut feeling it hasn’t been bolted back together properly. I have heard good things about Dulford elsewhere and I can drop the car off and catch a train home which is a bonus, trouble is I heard good things about the “tuner” I used as well and don’t want to compound the problems by choosing the wrong place again.

As Gary says above, had my engine totally rebuilt in November by them and she's a beauty.

Richard is a bit of a Guru in TVR engine building circles. The whole team their know their stuff and have a passion for doing the job right the "first" time which is very refreshing in the motor trade.
I rarely recommend services or products as they have a habit of proving you wrong, but i have used Richard and his colleagues for 3yrs and can't praise their knowledge and professionalism enough.

They are also very reasonably priced to.

Richard at Dulford has been looking after my car for the past four years and personally I don't think I would trust anyone else, knows his stuff and has got all the time in the world to explain things to you and even show you what they have done or recommend. A big thumbs up in my book.

I've also used Richard for years,both at Peninsula and subsequently at Dulford.A true enthusiast and top bloke with a good team.They did lots of mods to my Griff for me ( they currently have it for sale on my behalf).Loads of established and PH respected Griff owners/modifiers use him including Guillitone and GarryM.

No supprises here really, as their name is on my car!

They've taken my car from 245 - 400BHP. had just about everything done that can be done and wouldn't take it anywhere else!

dread to thing how many times the car has been in there, and i can't think of a single problem! tell a lie, a coil got cracked once during a service about 3 years ago. may have even been like that before??? but it was diagnosed, sorted and changed FOC no questions.

since then, twin plenum, injectors, regulator, mass meter, nitrons, spiders, brakes.
then
tuscan engine, tuscan box, tuscan diff, wishbones, springs, T350 seats (chassis mounted, harnesses (chassis mounted) more head work, suspension set ups, radiator (3 core) etc etc

not doing the big "I am" here steve, just showing that they can handle anything! and very reasonably priced though obviously these things aint cheap.
I'm sure would admit that they ain't perfect 100% of the time, but I've been there more than most and I'm very happy. In fact its back in there now! No probs just making it quicker (got to keep Griffany behind me )
