wiring diagram

Hi All, lovely day for Griff, unfortunatley the fuel gauge and alarm stopped working. The wiring diagram in steve heaths book is only partial, no dashboard wiring etc, is there a full diagram anywhere?

I believe the fuel guage is linked to the original alarm. Can't help with the wiring diagram, but at least you may have only one problem, not two!

I haven't seen one in the flesh, but I understand that on some cars the wire between the fuel gauge and the sender is intercepted by a relay which is switched by the alarm. I think the theory is that anybody trying to hotwire the car might give up if it seems that the car is out of petrol.

Ta, seems the criminal fraternity are considered fairly stupid! I drove for 10 miles withot noticing the fuel gauge, even then the wife had to prompt me! Ta for advice.
