VACUUM ADVANCE FITTING!!

I was told that its simple to fit the vacuum advance, but I cant find the hook inside the distributor to connect the vacuum advance rod with the hole onto it. Is there a trick to this or do I need to percavere more!

No great trick. The loop that the hook is supposed to engage can move, so perhaps it's moved out of reach? If you get really stuck, take the tamper-proof cover off the top of the dizzy and pull the moveable platform back into its normal position.

I have funmbled about trying to get it hooked up but it is difficult when i don't know whether the hook is supposed to be on the top or the bottom and what does it look like. I havent tried taking the protective cover off the dizzy because i'm afraid i will never get it back on.

any ideas?

Remove the cover - it's easy. Just DON'T drop anything into the distributor.
Obviously the distributor cap has to come off, then the rotor arm. This might be stiff - don't be tempted to lever it or it might break. It should just pull off.
The tamper proof cover is held on by three screws - that's it. Refitting is the reversal of removal...

Hi,
I found this quite easy, insert the shaft into the the bottom of the opening and then lift up and move around slightly feeling with the end on the shaft, the hole in the shaft should just slot on to the peg. Hope this makes sense.
