Tyres again - Urgent!!!!

I know this has been done to death but, apart from Toyo, there is no other manufacturer that currently makes a tyre for the rear of the griffith on std rims! All the usual (Bridgestone, Goodyear Dunlop, Pirelli, Michelin, Yokos, Conti etc) do not currently make any tyre to fit! Any tyres that can be got hold of are no longer made, hense you will not be able to replace them like for like! Any advise welcomed as I need fronts and rears!

I take it the size on your LE is 245/45/16. Front and rear or 15"s at the front, I can't remember what number LE it is.
According the www.blackcircles.com Continental and a number of, interesting shall we say, brands make tyres in this size ready to order for delivery.

T1R's (245/45ZR16, w rated) on the back of ours with Dunlop SP9000 front (205/55ZR15).
The combo works well and tread pattern very similar. Will be trying the SP9000 on the rear on the next change.
Personally wouldn't touch the Bridgestones with a bargepole - rubbish in comparison.
Maybe affected if the roof is off though although not really an issue for you.

My fronts are 225/45/16 and rears are 245/45/16. Dunlop SP9000 are not made in either size and I don't want to go for a really naff make. I think it is going to have to be Toyo T1-R's front and rear. Their newest design/compound etc, but I'm just not sure!
Puff, how do u find the toyos compared to what you had on the chim?

The Chim was fitted with Bridgestone Eagle F1's 235/45/17's and 215/40/17's while the Griff is 245/45/16's and 225/45/15's Toyo's. The most noticable thing is how much more comfortable the ride is in the Griff, the 17" wheels on the Chim really made the ride hard, though some of that may be also be down to the firmness of the Bridgestones. I have a feeling the Toyo's are gripper, but that may be because of the increase in tyre footprint, as the Griff feels more confidence inspiring to drive quickly, but maybe with a little more roll, again hard to say of thats down to the tyre make or the difference in size. Its much more easy to spin the rear wheels by accident in the Griff but thats probably down to the extra power
The Bridgestone's have a very nice tread pattern, looks great in photos.

Yep use them on my everyday car, fantastic tyre. Grip very well in wet or dry. For the price I've got no complaints, although I've never tried them on a Tiv. The Cerb boys seem to like them though.

Reeso, I would be interested to know where you get the best deal on the Toyo's. No57 is still wearing SO2's at front & SO3's at rear - the rears are ok but fronts only got a limited life left

Flip, I have spent most of the day phoning all the manufacturers tech depts. Goodyear/Dunlop, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Toyo, Falken, Continental etc. The only ones that do a front & rear to match tread, compound, sidewalls etc are Toyo T1-R's and Falken 451's. The other companies make a front, but not a rear and I don't want to mix and match! Very unpopular size!
The decision has been made, courtesy of 2 independent recommendations and out of the choise I have.....Toyo T1-r's all round.
97Octane....£73 each for the fronts and £100 each for the rear. Total £346...of which Bridgestone will credit £100, making total payable £246, fitted, the lot! Nice.

Of interest, how are you getting Bridgestone to pay toward your Toyo tyres??? I'd like some freebies please!!!
