What price to sell

Unfortunately I sold my sole to the devil (she who must be obeyed), when I bought the Griff (without telling her)and I had to make a deal that if she hadn't driven it then we would sell and get more "user" friendly car. Sadly she's kept her side of the bargain!
Any ideas what I can expect for it - 93 Griff 500, 31,000 miles, Tax until Jan 07, MOT Apr 07, 2 other owners, always garaged or covered, good nick, not modified, not Levened up or Tracked. All opinions welcome. Any views on where to sell (other than this fabulous website of course)

I've been looking at Griff prices for a few months now (looking to purchase in 2-3 months if all goes to plan - the last time I said that the Mrs made me move house
) and yours seems to be in the 10-11k area. '94 cars seem to be in the 11-12k and pre-cats are in the 9-10k area, although to be honest I would probably be more tempted by a nice 4.3 than an early 500 but that's me.
I would suggest you do what I have been doing and look through the classifieds on here and judge where you car fits in and price accordingly. In terms of advertising it then as a potential buyer it may help you to know where I look which is here (most of the time-daily) TVRCC site (about once a week) and Top Marques (about once a month) although my search to date has been getting an idea on prices rather than actually buying.
I honestly think the Griff prices will bottom out very soon, I was reading that classic car dealers have said the S series prices have done so, and S's in good nick are actaully on the rise, I'm sure the same will be said about Chims and Griffs in the no too distant future.

Less than £10k for a rocking-horse poo 4.3 pre-cat
I damned well hope prices haven't dropped to that for a nice example. I'd have expected it to be closer to £13k for a private sale and more for trade.

I can only go on what is offerred for sale in the places I visit (see PH classifieds for example). I'm not an experienced buyer so will be using the services of someone to check it out before I do buy.

and I'm with you, Ian. Sounds much nearer 13k than 10. But you do need to circulate spec and colours, Goph, as they do influence prices, unfortunately.
Very gay pink exterior and psychadelic mauve interior will severly restrict the number of potential buyers! IYKWIM
It has creamy beige full leather and beige carpets (sorry don'y know the technical colour name), no PAS and no A/C (that's why the roof comes off isn't it?) Full TVR history up until about 3 years ago, previous owner then didn't use for a while, my father-in-law owns a garage so been fully serviced by him. New(ish) tyres (SO2's), no stone chips, the odd mark here and there but no dealbreakers.

To expect 13k I think it would need to be a very good 93, you will be competing with 94's and even some 95's.(I know age is by no means the whole story but some people will rank this quiet highly and may view younger cars before older ones)

I'm also not too bothered about he colour (as long as it's not a variation on BRG, but that's the wife's only demand) I really like the look of this gay pink 4.3 in the classifieds

There was a recent article in Classic Car (I think, it's gone for re-cycling now!) that predicted/quoted there has been a tumble in prices for some TVRs, they mentioned the Cerbs and Chimaera plus some of the early Speed 6 Tuscans.
I can see how the Chim may lose a bit of value, but then I am biased as it is always Griff over Chim for me (rarity). As to the Cerbs I would thought a good one would hold value? I'd take on a decent Cerb if I knew it's lifetime.
For the Tuscans et al? Hmm, the Speed 6 issue is still a worrying thought. I have intimate knowledge of the problems (ex had a Tamora) but this is not the place to be sounding off.
Griffs? Well, hard to say. When I had mine serviced recently the general mood was that the price may actually rise. On the back of that you can take a few assumptions? The Griff may well become a classic - ask a dealer or independent which ones are most sought after.
