I have a brand new Digital Multimeter with db reading on it but havent tried it out yet.
Will give it a try on the Yellow One tomorrow night and see if its any good.
Don't mind bringing it along to the Growl as a second opinion or back up if required.

Good Q. If you have two 100dB sources the same distance from the mike, is the total sound 200dB, 100dB or some sort of cunning logarithymic/inverse square law compromise?

Chaps see earlier thread 'db noise o meter' from 29th June.

I have the kit hiding in a dark corner of my garage on loan from work and will fetch with.
The kit is calibrated and comes with a self calibration gadget in case of getting knocked in transport, question remains what is the standard position for measurement? Lasr year was 1m back at 45 degrees any offers.

standard is 0.5m, at 45degrees, 3/4 revs to redline.

Sorry Dave - don't recall the previous post. Just trying to tie up loose ends now.

Andy - red line?? Don't have one and don't they rev to different limits anyway depending upon mods? So wouldn't a 4,000rpm db suffice so everyones on the same playing field.
