Broken metal frame door mirror

Cleaning Griff and wing mirror came off in my hand, broken metal frame. Been quoted £250 by my local dealer to sort out sounded quite expensive for a frame and labour i suppose it must be a tricky job. Has anyone had a go themselfs.

is it the bobbin in the door or the bit that scrwes in? £250 is a lot if its just the mirror you can get a new mirror and swap it without having to swap the whole mirror (torq screw inside) and respray it need to take the speaker out and unclip the connector then remove the wires from the keeper not too difficult a job!

It's covered in gory detail in the bible. Several different techniques. You will need a new tower - around the £12 mark and a bit of patience.

Hi all, thanks for replys, its the metal frame/tripod thats broken/snapped, part of it is still attached to the mirror.
I take it its covered in the second edition bible as its not covered in my first one. Will have to buy a new edition one.

the three pillar'd component (made out of mickey mouse metal i.e. Zinc) is available from David Geralds for @ £8. I've just done my nearside one and it is a pig of a job! I still haven't got the alignment right.
