Thinking of 15" wheels at the rear....

I have picked up a set of 4 off 15" early Griff alloys as a spare set for some track day tyres, as I plan to do 3/4 next year. The Monster meet at Snetterton last year took it's toll on my road tyres (Can't think why)






The front's are obviously the same, and I am thinking that the rears, being smaller diameter, may help in lowering the gear ratios, thereby increasing acceleration and optimising 5th gear. Also allowing swapping corners once the NSF has taken a battering.

Any body tried it ?

Anyone recommend the best track day only tyres ?

I reckon they'll be good for drifting only with the smaller width rims,if theres one thing the Griff/Chim lacks on the track(on a well set up one) is the top end speed,so a smaller diameter won't be doing you any favours.
Track only tyre's?....slicks come to mind,If you have to run dot's,you can't go to far wrong in a lightish weight car with R888's.
