Did i recall correctly, this was up for sale a couple of month back for about 20k?

Now its up for 14k. Cracking car, but is it worth the money? I'm tempted but things being as they are, its just not practical at the moment.

That's just scary (considering I put mine up for sale this week at £4k more!)(Although mine is better, of course!)
It was up for £18k. It's a real shame when people have no option but to sell and is unfortunate that he isn't going to get what he wanted for the car. It looked like a cracker at the Growl last year and has plenty of provenance to set it apart from the crowd.

I'm torn about what to go for, part of me says get another Griff, the other says try something else. It will either be a Griff, Chimeara or Lotus Esprit. The only thing is, i will need to spend about circa 22k for the right Esprit, but to find a peach Griff or Chim, its looking about 14-16k. I will keep the Esprit for a while but the TVR's will be chopped in for a later/new model over the next 2 years i reckon.
Unless i can bring a Griff to the States in the meantime, that would be good if i could. They will just sit in the UK and get looked after my brother until i pop home to give them a blast.

I have little doubt that I'll be buying another Griff one day. But, at the moment I'm wondering what I can buy when I get to Australia next year .. a Holden maybe..?

Yeah its my car, was up for £18k originally, then £16k, now finally £14k and that's it. If I can't get this price I will keep her and enjoy her for years to come, as was my original plan. Just taken her out today for a quick blast and I know if she goes I'll regret it afterwards, but needs must. I have been offered a 3000S in px, but I really want a V8, as this is what originally attracted me to Tivs all those years ago and apart from one all the other seven I've had have been various states of tune/size V8. So I'll see you at the Growl again, unless she sells beforehand.

It does look great tweety. It's difficult to know whether to wish you luck finding a buyer or not - since selling it may deprive you of years of enjoyment!

Well they both sound good chaps, but i have a speific requirement on what i want. You're right about the Lotus, the noise isn't right and it will need some tweaking to get a sound thats half as decent as the Griff. My mate is buying an Esprit V8 so it would be nice to have one at the same time, share the experience and all that, but at the same time, it pushes me towards to TVR so i can have something different, brutish and louder.
I've made enquiries with a specialist who's well respected, so i'll see what he comes back with. I've never been to the Growl, only Le Mans and the amount of people you meet at these events, you feel somewhat left out unless you have one, makes the experience all the more enjoyable. I have another friend who wants a TVR for Le Mans next year, he was talking about a Tuscan though, again, not the same noise, sounds slightly cleaner to me, not as dirty as a 4 or 5 litre sans cats!!!

The Griff is more expensive to buy than a comparable Chim but there are loads of Chims and I guess they would be more difficult to sell. Plus Griff prices seem to hold better so your unlikley to lose much if its well looked after. Same with a Tuscan really - in your price range you'll struggle unless you get a dead one. Most early ones have been sorted now but I still wouldn't do it. Speed 6 cars seem to depreciate pretty rapidly and they haven't stopped yet - Griffs have.

Yeah i know where you're coming from. I've told him to spend around 20-25k on a Tuscan, but research like fury. Personally, i prefer the Griff, but you can get a bit more for your money with a Chim, its horses for courses. It has to be a Griff really as i can probably use it until next year, not do too many miles and probably not take a horrendous drop when it comes to sell it.
