Just to say thank you ofr having your BBQ etc with us at the White Horse. It looked as though everyting went well , too blo@dy busy to take alot of notice , but hope you all had a good time and had plenty eat and falling down water.
One request , did anyone see one of our ornamental Horses heads that stand at top of the steps into the beer garden. We seem to have lost one over Saturday night ?

I do recall someone mention a horses head in the field by the hotel - the bit you walk through by the golf course. Didn't have the foggiest what they were on about but it makes sense now.
Thanks very much for taking us in and sorry if we were too noisy.
Great event and well enjoyed by everyone.
More Growler needed next time though (told ya so).

Kirk & Ali,
Paul just mentioned this to me - both horses heads were present and accounted for when we came in to say goodnight (which took at least an hour so!). Can't say if they were still there when we left though! No-one mentioned anything to me on the Sunday but it may be worth having a wonder over the field...
By the way - thanks to you both and your fab team for your hospitality over the weekend. And again, sorry if we over-stayed our welcome a bit on Sunday morning!!!

I noticed it on the Sunday morning when I arrived. I could see it from the hotel car park when looking towards the golf course. To be honest I assumed it was part of the golf course, but I thought it was a bit odd... Hope it's still there.

Certainly hope it's still there - if it's not in the field, it'd be worth asking the hotel if they saw it and took it in.

Have been to the chase today , the horses head was seen my a member of staff on Sunday Morning in the golf course area. However it has gone ... the groundsman has not seen it in the last 2 days. Like all good thouroghbreds they need excercise , but if left alone will eventually be taken ,
If the person who decided the horse needed some excercise would like to point out his griff next year , i'll take it out for run and let you play hide and seek for it.
It may have only been a concrete head , the fact remains it was part of the White Horses attraction.

Im gutted about that Kirk...I saw it near the golf course on Sunday but also thought it was something to do with that dont know why!!)
Given that we all had a great time and enjoyed Kirks hospitality could we ask that if whomever took it returns it? No questions asked, no pack drill nor inquisition? Im not syaing it was one of us as it might have been others (there were sme nippers hanging round on Sunday I noticed)but if it was...

The nippers on Sunday came in with a guy I got talking to down in the village shop Jeffsy. I sat on the bank watching them walk around the car park and they all behaved with a great deal of respect and certainly weren't dragging a concrete horses head into their Audi A2 when they left !
I'm afraid if the head was noticed in the hotel grounds it implicates us, which is a real shame considering the efforts of the White Horse team to put on a good do for us.
If this thing isn't found we might want to consider if the Growl collective can do something to make amends. IMHO
