.If you look on e-bay youll often find a good used 45mm trumpet base and plenum for even less!! Is the £700 a single hit, or is it merely the beginning of a very slippery slope?
If it's the former, I'll go along with what Mike says. The latter and I'd be looking at an ECU upgrade - mapped ignition, wideband lambda control etc. as this will pay for itself in the long run.

Obviously being RED its already quite nippy (and also quite louder than your Mike)... 
As above (and me being a self confessed technical numptie) I wouldnt be doing this work myself...how much for the ECU remapping etc etc dnb??
Mike - I think we will have to talk offline where I can display my utter ignorance again.
Its not that I dont recognise the words guys...its just I dont recognise them in the order you say them!!!

Blue has to be the faster colour out of all those - it has the shortest wavelength, therefore the highest frequency. 
Red is in fact the slowest.
However, you're all wrong - what is the wavelength of black? Must be near zero, therefore black is the fastest colour you can get.

The cost in parts of what I've done in terms of electronics is around £800. The ECU makes up roughly half of the cost. The rest came from things like coils, injectors, trigger wheel, new sensors, a huge bundle of wire etc which you may or may not need.

Pauls world, party time...sorry mate - I dont remember that bit. Mind you the words "caught you up" show mine was fastest and I probably slowed down to let you catch up
Yours will always be slower as its down to power/weight ratio and yours will always have you in it
