2900 miles and the Growl

Came home tonight after a wonderful trip to GB! 2900 miles, 650 litres of gasolin, 6 liter oil but only one night in the car!
Thank you all for a wonderful event at the Growl, it was a delight to be together with you and your wonderful cars!
After the Growl we had our first night in Wales, Portmerion – very nice place! Thereafter, one night in Grasmere, in the beautyful Lake District ,and the following one in Irvine,on the west coast. The night after was spent in the car – yes it’s possible! – after 5 hours search and one tank of gasoline, we parked by A835 near Loch Glascarnoch. Very nice road the A835, especially at 6:30 in the morning, when we had it all alone against Ullapool!  Then we headed south again, A832 and more, and ended up in a BB in Applecross. Magnificent place, lovely Pub with live music and THE feddle player!! Even had a coffe by a retired fisherman and his wife, lovely friendly people! Thereafter it was Inverness, Elgin, attached A939 southwards – what a great road and scenery! Ended up in the most stylish country-hotel in Ballater, had a great evening there also. So it was the A93 to Perth, more Cashmire wool, don’t ask me why, before we ended up in Innerleithen. We should stay at BB#4 in Berwick upon Tweed which Steve Prevett’s skjønne Helene recommended, but they had no room for us.. Then it was Hadrians Wall, the ferry to Bergen, and over the Norwegian mountains back home today.
We met a lot of nice people all the places we went. There were a lot of thumbs up to the Griff, several inviting smiles, even when Gry was there to take care of me, many positiv comments on the car, no situations in the traffic, was only told 4 times by Gry to get over to the left side after starting up wrong :-o and met only 3 TVR’s on the road – had expected more. The Griff is a great car to travel in, more journeys will come! Best from Gry and Per
