Ket knob upside down

I pulled out the leather gater surrounding the gear knob, expecting to find a grub screw or similar that I could loosen.. as mins not on straight its twisted nearly 180 degress...
wot am I missing ?!!

The ally collar beneath tightens up to secure the knob, like a locknut.

Typed "Ket Knob upside down" into Google and it didn’t have a clue either.

twisted 180 degrees Ed? so its reading upside down then?
as said earlier, loosen the inch long collar under the round gearknob twist the gearknob around to line up where you want it to be and tighten the collar back up again.

Hang on chaps, he means the Ket knob. I don't think that's adjustable

So before I go crazy, can anyone confirm which way to twist it? Seems quite happy where it is so far!

Unscrewing is anti-clockwise but as the thread is upside down I think you should turn it clockwise as viewed from above.

exactly that Mr. B !

I put a layer of rubber around the lower part & gripped v v hard with decent plyers.. turned clockwise as suggested (Ta for help Simpo btw). All that happened was a few little scrapes of metal came away!

How did you get your one loose ?

i have one identical to that and it come's loose easy enough by just turning the k**b anti clock wise

Forget trying to undo the collar - just grab the knob (use a rubber glove if you need more traction) and unscrew it anticlockwise. Then screw it back down until the diagram is correctly orientated and tighten the collar to keep it there.
