Serious 4.3 Griff Tuning
Discussion
Dear TVR Drivers,
as you allready all should/could know i own a 4.3 catted Griff built 1993. Therefore it´s the non-cross-bolted engine as much as i know. (is there any optical difference visible ?). and it also should be a pre-serp engine. it has definitely the rover box and the "normal" limited slip differential. has allready the ACT Exhaust (which i believe is allowed to be a little bit noisier here in germany than in the uk (more noise equivalent to more power ?).
i´m thinking about letting the car being optimized (chip, gasflow and little bit racier injectors) through a very professional company here in germany (well known cause they tuned the official german ford-racing cars for years and years).
but without bigger valves (so meaning the griff 4.3 bv conversion kit or something similar) i think i could only get little bit more power out of the car, but not as much as i´d like to. in my personal opinion the 4.3 engine should be by construction able to stand stable true 330-350 din-ps. (new bearings and so on but without more bore or hub ! so not like the 5.0 griff.)
is there anyone out there who can tell me where to get a big valve finetuned head from ? does any supplier or tuning company in the uk produce this regularly ?
what about such simple things like a compressor or even a turbo ? (better no turbo because of the driveability).
i´m not looking forward to speed the car up for more than its gears-limits (meaning approx. 250 km/h). but would like very much to have more torque combined with faster reving.
many thanks in advance to all of you. but please don´t give me the mark adams chip hint. this just because i have the car to be chipped here (and that because of the technical support i need in germany for the car).
thanks again and hope to hear from you

hi dnb, think that it is the lucas ECU (if that is the original on 4.3 griffs). why do you ask ?
I think dnb means, is it possible for you to change the ECU during your modifications, or do you want to stay with the origonal CUX ECU? Is this something you want to do? Is it possible for TUV reasons?
