Warm up during the winter shutdown

Hi Guys i have posted this in the general stuff but what is the best way to warm up your V8 when it is on its stands during the winter shutdown, bearing in mind it is not recomended to just tick the car over for long periods of time due to cam probs ?

If I have to do extended work on the car, I tend to not start the engine until the wheels are back on the ground. Maybe I should?

Seeriusly, put the wheels back on and go for a drive. That way you warm up everything.



(The only exception to this is snow)
