Rev limiter ?

Hi all, I've just got a '500' which I've yet to give a good try out ! Pretty impressive so far but was just wanting to check that they have a built in rev limiter (in the ECU?), and if anyone could advise what the limit is generally set too. Main interest being to protect the engine - as on a bumpy road, if the rear wheels momentarily lift I could see the rev's flying high, especially if gunning it in second.....

The rev limit will probably be set to 5600, 6200 or somewhere in between, although if it's been chipped the rev limit could be set to anything. In any case these engines don't like being revved and you shouldn't go anywhere near the rev limit on a regular basis. There's really no point taking it beyond 5500 rpm even if you're in a hurry, and 5000 rpm would be sensible rev limit most of the time.
