Additionl fuses/relays in footwell

Does anyone know what the extra pile of fuses and realys are for on top of the battery(not fuse panel). I dont have any troubles, just curious. No mention in the bible or handbook.

Just a word of caution, handle the whole lot carefully when accessing or removing the battery as there appears to be shorting links in some of the connectors which look like they may come adrift with a bit of provocation...you were warned!

PS. I have installed a remote connector to my battery so I can attach a float charger when I am not using the car...keeps teh battery in perfect condition and believe it or not IMO it seems to run better for it...
