I'm looking to change my car from my Chimaera which I've owned over 3 years now.... The short list is...
Tamora
Tuscan (find 1 with a recent engine re-build)
Grif 5.0 (would love a final 100 car but are these over priced?)
Last of the Chimaeras with the enclosed headlights (4.5 or 5.0)
The Chimaera seems to be the best value and still love the shape. Worry though that I will want a change in shape soon if I buy another.
Tamora seems to be great value but worried about the Speed 6 engine. Can get a newer car than a Tuscan for my money.
The Tuscans seem to be getting good value now if I can find 1 with a recent engine re-build.
The Grif's (last 100 made) are a true classic but I worry that they're over priced.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

I'm quoting the phrases you use here cos it's easier to relate to your post. I don't mean to sound sarcastic or patronising. So here's my twopennorth 
:
Tamoras and Tuscans are 'great value' because if the engine goes it's expensive.
Griff SE's are 'over priced' because there's less than 100 of them left, everyone wants one and the engine's don't blow up.
You do get the most car for your money and the least potential for big bills with a Chim - if you like the looks I think it's the common sense choice.
I think the thing really hitting Chimaeras and to a lesser extent Griff values is the downward pressure on Tuscan values as people either factor the cost of an engine rebuild into the asking price, or demand (understandably IMHO) a recent rebuild. The current factory uncertainty also exerts downward pressure on Tuscan prices (as there are more TVR-specific parts). This pressure should not affect RV8 engined cars - but it does! I find it surprising that people looking for a Chim or Griff consider the Tuscan an alternative. The Tuscan is a very high performance car with potentially high running costs. The Chim and Griff are high performance sportscars which enjoy great reliability and relatively low running costs. I don't see Tuscans always being more expensive than Chims and Griffs - eventually, the Chim and Griff will achieve true classic status, valued for their rarity, character and affordable running costs - outside the TVR network. The Tuscan will (IMHO) become a cheap supercar but will always carry high potential running costs (and dependence on TVR) and hence remain 'good value'.
