Fans not cutting in..`elp!

1994 Griff 500,modwise 2 speed thingy fitted. No overheating probs and no fan probs. Until now....
In footwell 2day, removed ecu for full access to tidy up area and lag the heating pipes to help keep electrics a little cooler down there.... put all back 2gether went for drive-no fans!!
Checked fuse in engine bay and in footwell. Both ok. Checked otter by wire across and seems ok (well, it started the fans...!). Finally, changed relay with heated seat (same value)relay and it worked. Took for drive to do full check and...it doesnt work. Getting frustrated by the hour. This and a few other unrelated probs gnawing at me of late. Anyone out there help? Pleeeze!! Getting gobbledegook from search, BTW!

Change fuse anyway and see what happens

Try running a new earth to the otter, I had this intermittent type of issue and this fixed it.

Not sure if this is the same set up as yours, but has the link wire come adrift?

The link is only for cars where the fusebox is "shot". If the otter short works, the fans are on full speed so the fault has to be with the relay/fuse-box. Give me a call as it will speed things up greatly. Its only something simple !
