Main Beam Lamp mounting ring

Isn't it held, via the bolts, with plastic wing nuts? If so, butcher these, then you can re-use the ring - even if you have to use normal nuts/washers until you source replacement plastic nuts.
If you want to avoid a breaker, try a decent motor factor - or even BMW specialist. I believe the main beam units are off an E30 3 series.

Ben, you can do exactly that.
I had to butcher mine to get them out. They are just long hex headed pins(5mm I think).
Just dont lose the springs.
I replaced the crappy wing nuts with stainless ones. And added some lovely grease......
