So then,as it turns out,it looks like my juddering is coming from the rear breaks, rather than the clutch. After more investigation this only occurs after being out for a run,ie when warm/hot,and never seems to happen from cold.It also happens with the clutch pedal on the floor!Which is the most likely suspect-warped disk/disks,sticking piston(s),sticking sliders,or something else(pads are good i think)? Is there a known weakness with these breaks?Has anyone any experience of this problem,and/or rebuilt these calipers(photo rebuild perhaps)?
Cheers,Mike

Seek out a friendly MOT garage and check the run-out when cold.

Take it for a good blast and get some real heat in to the brakes and then put it back on the
brake rollers.
This will at least confirm what you are thinking, unless you have a DTI and mag mount to do your own checks?

A search on the sierra cosworth forums might help? but it does sound unusual.

Luckily they are not that hard to strip and check

I have found that the bolts holding the rear bracket to the differetial have been too short and they have pulled out of the diff causing the bracket to break (if this is the case you can replace the short one with longer as the thread in quite deep in the casing). Adrian@
