Replacement bolts for OZ multispokes
Discussion
From memeory I think its about £200 worth of bolts.. (titanium from some place on the continent) ...
For about £360 you can get the wheels refurbed where they clean and chrome the bolts as well as polish the rims and redo the lattices.... a very reasonable price (Part exchange wheels)

I am reliably informed that replacing the bolts two or three at a time as been done successfully. I refurb'd the 5 spoke OZ split rims on my wedge: the original bolts on theses are OZ specials and made from titanium - with a 10 point head - ie you would require special tools to remove them. If you do a search on this site you will find that this as all been covered before. Alternatively look on the Wedge pages and in the archive section you will find reference to a Dutch wedge owner who supplies replacement stainless bolts. If you have the time and don,nt mind getting your hands mucky you can do a decent refurb job yourself and save yourself a tidy sum.
I don't really fancy all of that money and effort to replace the bolts but I wonder if one of the wheel refurb places would be able to blast and powdercoat the whole lot? I know that it won't have the polished rim and that the bolts will not be able to be removed without knackering the finish but at least it will look good and be very durabble. Any thoughts or experience ?

Simon,
people are regularly quoted £200 a wheel to refurb these. That's why mint sets are worth £800+. Your best bet is PX wheels (as Hoover says) whose quote for refurbing these wheels way undercuts everyone else. They advertise on ebay. The wheels are a devil to clean and pricey to keep pristine, but they are very sought after - I'd do them properly if I were you.

Simon - with respect you don,nt make sense: surely to replace your wheels with after market items will cost as much as asking a pro to fettle your existing items. OZ wheels are an expensive bit of kit and will cost as much to refurb professionally as to buy after market replacements. With a TVR you either have deep pockets or you get your hands dirty. At the end of the day you have that choice.

Assuming the bolts are still basically sound why don't you get a Dremmel with a small conical wire brush attachment, clean/shine up the bolt heads, apply some clear lacquer to keep them shiny and polish up the rest of the rim. A little time and a little cash should sort your OZs nicely IMO.

Thanks for the advice guys. I spoke to 2 local wheel refurb companies & both said that they wouldn't touch the wheels. I had thought about having them powdercoated but they said that the oven process would loosen the bolts and the rims could buckle.
I will try removing a few bolts and see what I can achieve on the polishing wheel - not too hopefull though!
Cheers
