Brake Pads

The last two months has seen my griff do the Nurburgring,V Max and Oulton Park as well as being my daily drive. I think its time for some new brake pads for my standard 98Griff Brakes.

I need something that will suit not only track days but every day driving as well.
Plus which is the best brake fluid to go for.

Ferodo DS2000/Ds2500. DOT 5.1 brake fluid.

I have ds2500 on my chim - they're fab for road and track.

I use Mintex 1144's

They're a good pad for both road and track day use.

I'm with ShPub, tried several different ones which are great for road use, but can't cope with track use (one set actually caught fire after 15mins on the track). The DS2500 have not let me down on the track and need very little heat in them to work on the road.

Thanks for the replys chaps, I need some rear disks as well I believe these are ford cos. Is that true can I buy them at halfords or do i need to go to a TVR dealer to get some. Anybody know part number or which ones to look for.

Horizon fitted Mintex 1144 with DOT 5.1 brake fluid when my Griff was last serviced. Highly recommended. Braking performance improved immeasurably and Spa became a whole new circuit!

If you're replacing the disks, take the oportunity to put on some qood quality uprated grooved disks - Blackdiamond/mintex etc. you'll be surprised how little extra you will have to pay over the cost of TVR std discs.

Blackdiamond here too on the Chim drilled and grooved with Redstuff pads. I probably wouldnt go for drilled again having heard some horror stories (not about black diamon I hasten to add) but they are a fantastic set of stoppers even when very hot.
