shocks

hi, everyone need help again, can anyone tell me the best poundage for shocks and springs on a griff it will be fpr normal road, no track days i got non adjustable blistons at mo,i know of a set of nitrons for sale but i thing they are a bit strongly sproung for normal road use . i read on one of the post,s somewhere a good set up is round about 275-400 fronts and some were about250-325rears the ones i am thinking of having are550 anyhelp is very welcome thans again paul . ps is55o front 450rears to hard for normal road use

Paul,

Springs are quite cheap to change and Nitron will rebuild dampers for £50 or so each, so you could get the rate altered to suit your needs. If the seller is reasonable and will factor in the costs of getting the settings in the right ball park for you, perhaps you can still do a deal. After all, I'm sure they know the dampers have more limited appeal as they stand. Good luck.

Hi

I think the gas filled Nitron shocks need lower spring rates, 325 front. Conventional shocks (Gaz, Protech) the going rate seems to be 400 front 325 rear, I run this and it is fine, not too rigid.

Absolutely right, Nitron do run 325/250 as standard but I would be making sure that this Nitron kit under discussion had not been stroked and revalved, Joo for one does his own spec kits for the trackday/ race stars as do I, so I would find out a bit more first.

I asked about those a while ago and I think he's planning on keeping them (or holding out for the full asking price).

No harm in asking though....
