Now the dark nights are here, you all may be interested to know that Halfords are offering their H1 "Super Brilliance "+50% brighter 55W headlamp bulbs "BOGOF"
Griffith is type 448SB price £14.99.

Not tried them out yet, tho'.

Beam running them in my Griff for 18 months or so. They are a massive improvement over std bulbs.

My headlights are totally standared on a 94 Griff, will these be ok without any upgrade to wiring / fuses etc.

Yep straight replacement bulbs that draw the same current but give you 50% greater illumination.
