Misfire fixed..............

Just got back from taking the car to Shropshire Automotive Services.

The Griff never missed a beat until about 3 miles from Mikes garage.

He traced the miss to No4 cyclinder, sparks were fine...

It was one of the bloody spade connectors in the injector plug.
It had pulled back out of the plug.
It must have been making when it was cool and as the heat built up, it pulled back.

Anyway, tentatively, I say the car is fixed.

Oh and I had a lovely drive back in the November sunshine, roof in boot of course

When overhauling my engine bay wiring a couple of years ago I discovered one of the female injector connectors had crushed and was making intermittent contact. Glad you got it sorted.

This sunshine is great, done over 120 miles today.


Even just collected a petrol mower on the passenger seat to avoid using the mundaneo

Antony, what were your symptoms before getting it (hopefully) fixed ?

Lazy , the car would run fine from cold, but if it sat for a while, whilst hot, when it was restarted it would miss for a while.

It did get worse , where it would miss as soon as it got traffic queue hot.

All makes sense now(as it always does)

Yeah but we think we've narrowed it down to somewhere between the imob and the fuel pump. Its a different problem to yours by the looks of it.
