Knee switch

New griff owner and still discovering stuff - like the little switch by the drivers left knee, the manual says this turns on and off the dash illumination - except on mine it doesn't appear to do anything.

Likewise the twisty volume style knob by the left hand stalk - is this supposed to dim the illumination then ?

Yes the button at your left knee was for switching on/off the dash illumination although some owners convert them to a fan over-ride switch. The rotary knob adjusts intermittent wiper speed.

On my car it does switch the instrument lights on and off.

A year or so ago I read a thread where a Chim owner discovered a switch under the dash, only to find out that this activated/deactivated the heated seats, an option he did not know he had.

Chap thought having a roasted sphincter was part of TVR ownership!

On mine it was for turning the dash lights on and off, however it was a bit temperemental and hard to switch off once you turned it on, so I never touched it
