Thought people might be interested to learn of my recent discovery; I have an early non power assisted 4.3 and was noticing slight but annoying vibration in the wheel, had the wheels balanced twice over a period of a couple of months and still not much better. Took the car to leven tech to take a look and they said there is minor play in the rack but that in fact if I had power assist I probably wouldnt even notice it. Car has done 60k so presume still original rack. Anyway decided to get recon one put in plus track rod ends (UJs were almost new so didnt bother changing them) and the difference in overall steering feel is massive. It feels like a new car. The annoying kick back and tramlining has completely disapeared. I have S03s tyres which I was seriously contemplating changing as presumed that was part of the problem but now will wait till they wear.

Your front suspension busehes should be dead by now, especially rear uppers. They will cause wierd vibrations. If you have not done them you must have the most miles on one set of bushes!

well had Nitrons and springs put on recently set up by Topcats so should be all good in that dept
