Ok - I'm now ready to get back in a TVR.
I'm not gonna spend any more than £10k on my new toy, so my question is - can I get a decent Griff for that money? I would obviously prefer a 500, but realise chances of a good one at that money are scarce.
I know I could get a Chim,V8S or good wedge, but want to explore the Griff thing as first preference.
Any pointers appreciated - if you want to e-mail me with something that meets my needs feel free

You could get a reasonable Griffith 4 litre for your 10K - there's a good one on ebay at present and there have been a few on PH Classifieds. Don't understand why you say you 'would obviously prefer a 500' - I for one don't see the obvious nature of that statement - the precats are fabulous and many prefer them to the later 500s.
Have you looked on PH and ebay, etc. - if not get cracking - it's the right time of year to get a bargain if some unfortunate owner just has to sell - so jump in.

I've just looked at your profile and your 'obvious' boast of bumping off your lovely Chimaera 500 and the proud displaying of the carnage sicken me - go assassinate another make/model please!
What about a nice Porsche or BMW?
You really don't want to be bothered with TVRs. Would you not rather spend your money on a hobby sport like Dodo shooting - oh sorry they're already extinct - okay then what about tigers?

Now you're just going all hurt and sulky on us - stick an ad in Wanted or better still look at the ads on PH - there are a lot of great Griffith bargains to be had in there from 7K upwards.

I don t quite understand why you would want to post a statement like that really??? The guy obviously has experience driving/riding fast machines (looking at his profile) so he had an accident.......So what.....Who hasn't.....I ve had several..... on the road and track, some my fault, some not, on bikes and in cars, does that mean i now have to drive a Porsche or BMW??? Sell my bikes and cars????? Does it mean i now can not drive a TVR????? Iam in the middle of rebuilding and modifing it, should i now just sell it in case i offend someone with my drivng ability when its finished???
In answer to you original question I would go for a 4.3 pre cat very good value and in your price range. Good luck in locating a car, and not all of us Griff drivers are as narrow minded.

I'm sorry about the reception you've received on here and I can assure you we are NOT all like that.
Some of us understand that accidents can and do happen, and don't presume that you are some reckless TVR killer because you posted a picture. Indeed a number of members of this and other forums have posted images of wrecked cars in their profiles or in threads. While each smashed car is a loss to the marque they can serve as a reminder to others of what can happen and maybe they will be a little more careful out there. I should imagine that a large majority of TVR drivers could benefit from some sort of advanced driving tuition, I know I will be when my car is back on the road.
As mentioned there are a number of good cars on here and on The Griffith Pages. I think there was one 500 on here for about £11K if you can stretch to that.

pre-cat or 500, they are all good just go for the one that speaks to you...you'll know what i mean when it happens. Just remember age and mileage are not a factor of whether it is good or bad one, go on condition.

Ricardo, with the best will in the world, you have only been on this forum for two months. A bit heavy with the criticism on a guy who has had three TVRs already when you have absolutely no clue how that accident happened.
ok, whether you think the pic of the mangled Chim is in good taste is irrelevant, I didn't hear too many people complaining about the crashed Cerb that appeared after LT.
