Just wanted to say hi to you guys
I came to Pistonheads off the back of the awesome knowledge of the Noble guys. 2 Happy years of M12GTO ownership later I decided the time was right to get back into a convertible. Have done the Tuscan thing (got burned) and so decided on the classic Griff 500 (the car that ignited my passions for TVR)
Just took delivery last night of a Silver 98r on 50k miles...good condition and a joy to drive.
Looking forward to many miles of happy motoring (touching wood as I type). The car will be used mainly for my 6 (am and pm) blasts up and down a B road between Groombridge - a sleepy kent/sussex border village - and sevenoaks, but I'm sure I'll find other excuses.
Looking forward to your support when I need a bit of help, and the odd bit of banter.

You'll find the guys on here every bit as helpful and knowledgeable as the Noble guys.
It's not a great time of year to really enjoy a Griff, but it looks like you'll be aware of all that so I'll spare you the 'be careful' stuff.
Get yourself a hat and enjoy the roof down motoring anyway and sod the weather. Don't worry what you look like in a daft hat, you can't possibly look uncool in a Griffith
Oh, and get the Griff Growl put in your diary NOW, you can't beat it for

Welcome to the club. They guys on here are very helpful and credit to the club. I too have moved from another club, VX ownersclub. When upgrading I was looking at the Tuscan and am so glad I did not opt for one because of the running costs and reliability etc. I went for the Grif 500 and am so happy with it. I can honestly say it is the best sounding car, even more so with the sports exhaust I have fitted.
I hope you have a lot of fun and I would agree with the others, wear a hat on the cold days and have a great time.

and a few woolly hats to enjoy the winter sun (or lack of rain...maybe...eventually).
I'll try and get along to the Growl thing...but I am more likely to be a regular on here than in the flesh so to speak...wife and 4 kids provide me with more than 24/7 entertainment and diversion, but I do, and will, get out occassionally.

Bargain!!! Especially in that colour have to agree Seasider...my last 4 cars have all been silver...and that's a run of cars that started in '94...there's a certain sense of quiet satisfaction about it (not to mention the practicality of looking clean enough even when its quite filthy)...kids starting to complain now though...so next one will probably be different. Silver over red closely followed by silver over any colour

thanks...you've got me thinking...
the engine has only just been rebuilt and I think I'll leave it for a while. The lights, however, are the only disappointment on the car (worse than the M12...and they were bad)...how much would one be looking at to bolster the fronts to gas discharge or some other beefier variety (and update the rear cluster while I'm at it for purely cosmetic reasons)?
As for the rest...I'll leave it for now, and the colour will certainly be staying!
You are right - the lights are terrible...
Do a quick search on here - not too long ago there was a post re fitting aftermarket xenons, and some 'dodgy charachter' has a great post (hate to admit it) about changing to the latter 7" headlights, though a bit more work than xenons I think.

Welcome Morten - I am sure that you will not find the support on this site wanting, always there with useful advice and guidance - I am sure its part of the TVR thing.
By the way though, I think the other good folk are forgetting that green is the true colour of speed - British Racing Green etc..........
