hi,tiv,ers hope everyone is not to down hearted with weather at the mo .can some omeone pleas tell me whre the thermostat is on a griff , i got a 500 it was running abit hot in the summer so would like to put it right, if i can ' i am looking to change the otter switch 4 one that put,s the fans on at a lower temp. also would like to put on a thermostat that clicks in earlier,72"deg i had a look but could not see it , i am going to try these mods first before i consider a recore or alloy rad have flushed rad a few times but has,ent made any differance any help would be abig ,bonus, also if pos can someone give me a part no, for thermostat many thanks again paul

Its under a cover on the engine with the rad top hose leading to it just two bolts and it faces foward, you'll probably have to move things out of the way a bit to get to it.

And when you replace the stat don't use a std rover one get the TVR one as its got a much larger opening, probably worth opening the block taps ( theres one each side just below the exhaust and flush the cooling system out with lots of fresh water.

Highly recommend an fan override switch retro fitted,that way you have control over what temp the engine runs at in traffic-also for track days its good for the cool off laps.

Dont go for too cooler thermostat as this will have effect on fuel economy and emissions as the engine doesnt get hot enough around the cylinders.I would stay closer to the 80' mark

many thanks, blackspider i was going to go for somethink around the 74," deg mark but now i got more info i,ll phone and see what leven can gome up with oh, i have already got overide switch fitted but would be better if the fans cut in a bit sooner many thanks paul
