Hi everyone, went to start Griff today,no joy[always been excellent but not today].I have replaced all ignition components 12months ago.So after consulting the "bible" I'm thinking ignition module[amplifier].Has anyone had same problem with these modules failing suddenly within 12months? {fuel, starter motor OK,battery 12.97v]

Yes its possible it could have failed within 12 months.
Its one of those things that is difficult to test other than by changing it for a new one.

Yep. Mine failed a few months ago, but it was the 11 year old original!

Cracked it today[sat],more diagnostics,15 cups of coffee later.Fuel OK,pump OK,engine turns over OK,excellent "lightening discharge" on all HT leads,10k ohms on each lead OK. Which brings me to the battery, fully charged on optimate,12.96v but battery was faulty.I connected portable power pack to battery and she fired up straight away.It just goes to show don't always trust your battery, nearly 13v is not necessarily a good unit.Cheers guys, have a great Christmas.Dave J.
