Front cover gasket

Hi all,

I am going to change my camshaft soon on a Griffith 500, serpentine front end and cross bolted block. Bit confusesd as to which front cover gasket I require. Could someone tell me if it is the serpentine gasket (p.No ERR7280) or pre-serpentine gasket (p.No ERR4936).

Thats what I figured Quinny,
but there is the intermediate front cover (serp front with distributor and crank driven oil pump, as fitted to my Griffith)or the serpentine front cover (no distributor and crank driven oil pump). I believe the serpentine front cover has the oil pick up pipe running direct to the front cover, were as with pre-serp and intermediate front covers the pick up runs to the front cover via a gallery in the block. Thus my confusion, is the serpentine front cover gasket shaped so it does not block the pick up oil gallery to the front cover? I believe all front covers are interchangable (with regards to fitting to the blocks) but don't know which gasket is required.

not to sure what you mean, I recently replaced mine when putting in new cam, mine is a serp 96 500, casing has the distributer hole at the top with the oil pump inside at the bottom, can`t help on the gasket part number though, just ordered it up from tvr car parts, why not email them to confirm the part no, so you can get it locally.
