Poor petrol consumption.

I got the Griff back from a bit of work running very well, it averaged about 26 mpg on the way home which was quite good but was a relaxed drive as had my dad following so couldn't open it up. The MPG stayed good for about 2 weeks, then I notice the idle speed started staying high about 1800-2000 rpm for a while. Since then the MPG has dropped a lot, now getting about 16-18 mpg, wondering if the stepper playing up can cause poor consumption?

I had the same problems when I first got the car 4 years ago and a new stepper seemed to sort it out, I tried cleaning it a few times and the revs seem to stop playing up but the MPG still seems poor.

Hi,sorry to jump in on your thread[was about to start one on stepper motors].I think I have same problem.When they are changed is there a set up process or is a case of just fit and go? Cheers,Dave J.

Change and go - they aren't adjustable.
