Leven oil filler cap stuck

Hi all

and happy new year in advance. I'm Trying to put some oil in the Griff and can't get the leven cap off for love nor money. I'm assuming it is an unscrew cap and before attacking it with a monkey wrench thought I'd make sure this the case and there is not some simple trick I am missing.

If anyone knows / has had the problem before please could they help?

Also, does anyone know approximately how much oil is needed to take the level up to the full line from the minimum line?

Yes conventional right handed thread.

I sometimes have wrap a rag round mine to undo it as it can be tight.

Take out the breather and fill it?

Thank you, knowing it was a conventional thread meant I could apply lots of brute force and ignorance with a rubber glove and off it popped.
