throttle cable

Throttle cable snapped 2 miles from home today
Fortunately the RAC came to the rescue and made a temporary repair
A quick look on TVR sites suggests £50 for a new cable!!!!
All I need is the wire as the cable sheath and bolts are OK
Is it possible to buy just the wire and if so where?
Also is this a job any garage can do or do I need a TVR specialist?

the price sounds about right, the`re not cheap, but its a job you can do yourself, try tvr car parts on tuesday.

You might be able to replace it with decent cable from a bike shop?

Made one myself from parts from a bikeshop, costs about 6 euros.

Just had throttle cable replaced at Prestige Performance Cars ( ex TMS Paul Glynn)
Excellent job , thoroughly nice bloke, reasonable price
Would recommend going there to any East Midlands owners.

just a thought next time one of you guys need a cable have a look at the MGB GT 1800 cable very universal looking(long)just cut to length if neccesary,would make a good spare about £6 so thats nice also.
